Drive America’s Highways for 27 miles south along U.S. Highway 75 from Glenpool to Okmulgee, Oklahoma — a short but varied stretch through small towns and countryside.
This segment of U.S. Route 75 begins in Glenpool, a growing suburb just south of Tulsa, at the junction with State Highway 117. Leaving the edge of the metro behind, the drive heads straight south across gentle plains and farmland. Along the way, the route passes near the quiet community of Winchester before curving slightly southeast to meet State Highway 16. Here, the landscape begins to shift toward more open pastures, with wide views across northeastern Oklahoma.
Continuing southeast, the highway passes through Preston, a small town that still reflects its early railroad heritage. The drive then enters Okmulgee County proper, where the route transitions from open farmland to more developed surroundings. Approaching the city of Okmulgee, travelers pass Okmulgee Regional Airport and the junction with State Highway 56 east. U.S. 75 then bends south through the northern edge of the city, gradually curving southeast once again until it reaches the intersection with State Highway 56 west. This marks the end of the 27-mile drive between Glenpool and Okmulgee, a corridor that connects the Tulsa metro with the historic heart of Okmulgee County.
