Tennessee Secondary Route 105: Trimble

Tennessee Secondary Route 105 may not stretch far, but its short segment through the town of Trimble offers a brief look into rural northwest Tennessee life. This two-mile drive forms a local connector between TN-89 and US-51, threading its way through the heart of Trimble in Dyer County. While it may seem like just another small-town road at a glance, this short stretch carries its own regional significance and a few subtle points of interest worth noting.

The drive begins on the east side of Trimble, where TN-105 intersects with Tennessee Secondary Route 89. From here, we head west along Pierce Street, quickly transitioning from open farmland into a more residential and small-town setting. The homes here reflect classic rural Tennessee architecture, with a mix of older bungalows, well-kept ranch-style houses, and a few modest commercial buildings. For a brief stretch, the road serves as a local main thoroughfare, connecting neighborhoods to Trimble’s civic and commercial core.

At Main Street, TN-105 curves northward for a moment before making another westward shift onto Mitchell Street. Here, you’ll pass near a few landmarks that hint at the community’s agricultural roots and small-town spirit. While not heavily commercialized, the route offers a few essentials like a gas station, a post office, and a couple of mom-and-pop businesses before heading out of town. As you leave Trimble, the road crosses TN-211 and becomes County Line Street, following the Dyer-Obion County line. The segment officially ends just ahead at the interchange with U.S. Route 51—soon to be designated as part of the future Interstate 69 corridor.

Beyond the town itself, Route 105 serves as a key connector between rural communities and major highways. Its western terminus at US-51 means travelers from Trimble can easily access bigger destinations like Dyersburg or Union City. In that way, this humble little route is part of a much larger network tying small towns to regional commerce and services.

While TN-105 in Trimble may not feature grand attractions or scenic overlooks, it’s a perfect example of how every mile of pavement has a story to tell.
